Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Sport Chronograph

This watch is a gamechanger…

It’s got that perfect vibe, rugged enough for a weekend adventure, classy enough for a night out.

Released in 2023 and jazzed up in 2025 with some seriously cool materials, it’s a timepiece that screams both innovation and elegance.

I am talking about the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Sport Chronograph.

The Parmigiani Fleurier Story.

Back in 1996, Michel Parmigiani kicked things off in Fleurier, Switzerland, with a knack for fixing up vintage clocks and watches.

With the Sandoz Family Foundation in his corner, he turned that passion into a brand that’s all about precision and artistry.

Fast forward to 2021, when Guido Terreni took the helm as CEO.

The guy’s got an eye for sleek, modern design.

He transformed Bulgari with the iconic Octo Finissimo and now shines a spotlight on Parmigiani Fleurier with the Tonda PF line.

A collection blending bold design with refined elegance, where the Sport Chronograph steals the show as its dynamic star.

Materials: Tough, Light, and Eye-Catching

What really sets this watch apart is the 2025 Ultra-Cermet models.

This stuff is wild. A blend of ceramic and metal (probably titanium) that Parmigiani claims is a world-first for a full watch case.

The 42.5mm case, bezel, crown, and buckle are all made of this shiny, scratch-proof material that’s light as a feather but tough as nails.

It comes in two flavors, each paired with a matching rubber strap that’s got a rugged, Cordura-like texture. It’s hand-stitched and feels like it could go toe-to-toe with the fanciest leather.

If cermet’s not your thing, there’s also stainless steel (42mm) or rose gold options, with colors like Arctic Grey or the beachy Sandstone beige. All of them can handle 100 meters underwater, so you’re good for a swim or a rainy hike. The straps are comfy, hug the wrist just right, and come with a slick steel clasp, gold clasp, or cermet buckle, depending on the model.

The Engine: A Powerhouse Inside.

Flip the watch over, and you’ll see the Calibre PF070 through a clear caseback. This inhouse chronograph movement is a beast, certified by COSC for pinpoint accuracy. It ticks at a zippy 5Hz, which means it’s super precise, and it’s got enough juice to run for 65 hours without a wind.

With 288 parts and 42 jewels, it’s a work of art… polished bridges, a rose gold rotor that looks like a Ferrari steering wheel, and smooth chronograph action thanks to a column wheel and vertical clutch. It’s the kind of engineering that makes you appreciate the craft.

Design: Sporty with a Side of Class.

This watch nails the sporty chic look.

The 42mm (or 42.5mm for cermet) case has a knurled bezel that’s chunky and tactile, giving it a tough edge.

The curved lugs make it sit snug on the wrist, even for those of us with smaller ones.

The dial’s got this cool triangular pattern that catches the light, coming in shades like Milano Blue, London Grey, or Sandstone.

Gold markers and hands glow in the dark, and the chronograph subdials (at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock) keep things clean and balanced. The cermet versions ditch the date window for a sharper look, though the steel and gold models have one at 4:30 that could blend in a bit better.

Price: Worth the Splurge?

Let’s talk numbers.

The steel version runs about $29,000, rose gold hits $50,200, $53,100, and the Ultra Cermet models are around $42,000.

Yeah, it’s a big investment, but you’re getting a rare material, a killer movement, and a brand that doesn’t churn out watches like a factory.

Compared to something like a Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph, it holds its own with unique style and exclusivity.

My Take.

The Tonda PF Sport Chronograph is the kind of watch that turns heads without shouting.

Its Ultra-Cermet case, slick movement, and versatile design make it a standout. Whether you’re into the high tech cermet or the classic steel or gold, it’s a piece that feels special, perfect for a day on the water or a night under the stars.

Parmigiani Fleurier’s blending old school craft with fresh ideas, and this watch proves they’re playing to win.
