Ticking with Style: The Vario Story.

Vario Watches, a way of making time feel special.

This small Singapore brand crafts timepieces that mix old school charm with a fresh, modern twist, winning over watch fans everywhere.

From its first steps to its current glow, Vario’s journey is all about passion, creativity, and a dash of fun.

Let’s turn back the clock and follow the classy tale of Vario Watches, with a few puns to keep things lively.

A Strap-Happy Start.

It all kicked off in 2014 with Ivan Chua, a graphic designer with a love for style. He was tired of plain, same old watch straps that didn’t match his vibe.

So, with his partner Judy, he decided to shake things up. In 2016, they launched Vario as an online shop selling handmade straps.

Think rich leather, colorful NATO weaves, and cozy tweed.

These weren’t just straps, they were a way to show off your personality.

But Ivan had bigger dreams. He wanted to make watches that felt like keepsakes, blending vintage looks with today’s dependability.

First Watches, Big Impressions.

Vario hit the ground running in 2016 with its first watch, the Eclipse.

This sleek piece, inspired by 1950s designs, had a simple dial and a reliable Japanese Miyota movement. It was a crowd pleaser, loved for its clean style and friendly price tag.

The Eclipse was Vario’s way of saying, “We’re ready to shine!”

By 2018, they rolled out the Empire collection, a tribute to the bold, glamorous Art Deco days.

With detailed dials, big numbers, and custom cases, these watches felt like they belonged in a vintage movie.

Powered by handwound movements, each one was carefully checked in Singapore to ensure top quality.

Watch fans raved about its elegant yet easy to wear vibe, proving Vario could do more than just straps.

Honoring History: The 1918 Trench Watch.

In 2020, Vario paid homage to the past with the 1918 Trench Watch, inspired by the tough timepieces soldiers wore in World War I.

Available in 37mm and 40mm, it had glossy dials, glowing hands, and a sturdy crown. Unlike those old watches, it came with modern perks like water resistance and tough sapphire crystal.

Launched on Kickstarter, it stole hearts with its caseback design of a soldier and poppies, marking the 1918 armistice. Collectors loved its mix of rugged history and smooth style.

Flipping the Game: The Versa and More.

Vario got bold in 2023 with the Versa, a rectangular watch that did double duty.

This clever piece had two slim watches back to back, so you could flip it to switch dials and time zones.

With its Art Deco and Streamline vibes, it was fancy yet fun. Limited to 100 pieces per color, it sold out quicker than a hot minute. Watch blogs called it smart and stylish, perfect for travelers or anyone who loves a standout look.

At the same time, Vario launched the *Navi* collection, with ocean-inspired dials and playful touches like anchor-shaped hands. The *Navi Popeye* edition, featuring the cartoon sailor, brought a grin to everyone’s face. It showed Vario could keep things serious but still have a laugh.

Raising the Bar: Empire Art Nouveau and Beyond.

In 2024, Vario went all-in with the Empire Art Nouveau Watch.

Limited to just 45 pieces, this 38mm beauty had hand-engraved dials, each with its own unique charm.

it was a collector’s prize, blending old-world artistry with modern polish.

Blogs called it a “slice of history you can wear.”

The “1945” collection also arrived, inspired by post World War II designs with clean, straightforward looks.

Vario kept its strap game strong, offering options like soft silicone and tough nylon for endless mix-and-match fun. Small batches and careful quality checks in Singapore kept everything top notch.

Today: A Watch for Everyone.

Now, in 2025, Vario’s a gem in the watch world. With collections like the 1918, 1945, Empire, Navi, and Versa, there’s something for every taste, from rugged to refined.

Prices range from $200 to $1,000, making them special but not out of reach. The Versa even nabbed a big design award this year, showing Vario’s got serious style.

What makes Vario stand out? It’s their knack for blending heart and humor.

Ivan’s design background shines through, making each watch feel personal. With thousands of happy fans worldwide, Vario’s more than a brand,it’s a community.

Whether you’re a watch geek or just want something cool, Vario’s got your wrist covered.
